Silicone Hoses that have spouts as shown in the below pictures, can have a lot of defects at the joint (where the spout meets the surface).
Some of the issues that can crop up are:
- Fabric getting exposed in that area (this is a failure mode which is not noticeable from the outside)
- ‘Flash’ or excess rubber around the joint (this is a failure mode which is not noticeable from the outside)
- Dents (surface damage) around the joint (this is a failure mode which is not noticeable from the outside if the diameter is small, or the Hose has multiple bends)
At Shore Auto, we work with a technique, wherein there is no chance of the three above-mentioned defects in our Hoses. Although this technique involves some additional steps in our production process, the “benefits” far outweigh the “costs”, and prevent any leakages or other failures in the Field.
